How do we know what we know about the (future) ocean? As the effects of climate change intensify, the ocean presents both an existential threat and an existential opportunity. A scholar of science, technology, and the environment, I study computational practices - especially numerical modelling - in coastal ocean research and consider how they come to shape potential environmental futures.
