Sameeha Vardhan is a PhD candidate in Applied Cultural Anthropology with interests in digital technologies, platform-mediated intimacy, and everyday engagements with media. Her research examines how gender, kinship, and social expectations shape marriage practices through digital matchmaking platforms in South Asia, particularly India. She is particularly interested in how users reinterpret and repurpose technological affordances in ways that reflect local contexts and social practices
