About Megan
Megan Wiessner is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Digital Technology for Democracy Lab at the University of Virginia. She studies media systems and the political ecology of the built environment, with a special interest in the role of computation in sustainable design. Her current research focuses on the place of digital technologies in the emergence of mass timber architecture in the Pacific Northwest, and on the implications of automated, low-carbon architecture for forests and working people. She holds a Ph.D. in Media, Culture, and Communication from New York University and an M.Sc. in Human Geography from the University of Oxford.
