PhD in Latin American Studies, University of Chile. He is a professor in the Department of Historical Sciences and the Center for Latin American Cultural Studies (CECLA) at the University of Chile. His research has focused on scientific racism, eugenics, and medicine, among other topics. In 2024, he published his book Defender la raza: una historia de la eugenesia en Chile, Editorial Planeta, and the essay Resignificar la vida: círicas alas nuevas eugenesias en América Latina with the University of Guadalajara Press (CALAS). He is co-editor of the volumes *República de la salud: fundación y ruinas de un país sanitario (2016) and Bulevar de los pobres: racismo científico, higiene y eugenesia en Chile y América Latina (2015).
