Digital and economic anthropologist, teaching on topics of digital infrastructures, AI and its inequalities, and money systems. My own work investigates the standardization of digital infrastructures through finance and labor in Kenya, and the contrary rise of digital spaces for virtual protest against extractive and exploitative structures. My book project traces the growth of mobile-money based ways of life, the rise of virtual protest in the 2024 Gen Z protests, and the subsequent pushing of surveillance technologies by state and corporate powers.
