About Kayah Nicholas de

I am a non-binary (they/them) social scientist based in São Paulo, Brazil. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP) and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Social Anthropology at USP. My research engages with conspiracy cultures, marginal and alternative epistemologies, and the production of violence and difference in online communities of involuntary celibates (incels), in dialogue with Science and Technology Studies (STS). Alongside my academic work, I work in public administration on digital and technological experimentation, innovation, and technology policy at the Attorney General’s Office of the Municipality of São Paulo. I am especially interested in exchanging ideas and collaborating with others working on digital extremism, infrastructures, and contested forms of knowledge.
